Wunderman

Wunderman is a global digital agency founded in 1958 by Lester Wunderman, Irving Wunderman, Ed Ricotta, and Harry Kline, as Wunderman, Ricotta & Klein (WRK). With 200 offices in 70 markets, headquartered in New York City, Wunderman is part of Young & Rubicam Brands and a member of WPP.

Founder Lester Wunderman is widely considered to be the creator of modern-day Direct Marketing, a term he originated in a 1967 speech at MIT.1

Wunderman, Ricotta & Kline was acquired by Young & Rubicam in 1973.2

In November, 2018, WPP merged J. Walter Thompson, the world’s oldest ad agency, with Wunderman, resulting in an organization known as Wunderman Thompson and be headquartered in JWT’s offices on Manhattan’s Lexington Avenue.4
