VR Austin is a community of VR developers, enthusiasts, artists, programmers, designers, musicians, filmmakers, dancers, architects, or all/none of the above in the central Texas area. They hold quarterly networking events that encourage the growth of ideas for developers and enthusiasts alike. The world-class tech, gaming, art, and film scenes make Austin the best place to be for VR development. With over 2,000 members and around 300 attendees per meet up event, their community is growing daily.
In addition to the regular quarterly meetups, they run a once-a-year VR Jam that gathers VR developers from all over the world to spend a weekend crafting. It’s their biggest, most ambitious event of the year.
VR Austin is currently co-organized by following members of the Austin VR development community:1
- Autumn Taylor – Owlchemy Labs
- JJ Castillo – Viewer Ready
- Michael Daubert – Phaser Lock Interactive
- Patrick Curry – FarBridge
