Sony

Sony has kept true to its spirit of challenging itself to “do what others do not do,” growing its business domain from the core electronics business to entertainment businesses including pictures and music. It has now become an unprecedentedly diverse company that even offers financial services. Having these diverse business domains and operating them with a common set of values under the ‘SONY’ brand is its fundamental strength.

And now, Sony is leveraging this business diversity and further accelerating the development of new businesses, such as AI × Robotics.

To deliver new joy, excitement and awe to everyone. Sony’s challenge will continue always.1

In 2016, Sony launched their Sony Innovation Fund jointly with Daiwa Capital Holdings — the VC arm of investment bank Daiwa Securities – and in July, 2019, they announced a further $185MM to invest in tech startups.2
