Ravi Mohan

Ravi Mohan is a Managing Director and co-founder of Shasta Ventures, launched in 2004 with Rob Coneybeer. At Shasta, Ravi led the firm’s investments in and currently serves on the Boards of Brandcast, FogLogic, LeanData, Lightbend, Lucidworks, Resilinc, Spiceworks, Squelch, Suplari, and vFunction.

He also led Shasta’s investments in Finsphere (acquired by VISA), Clickability (acquired by Limelight) and ChartCube (acquired by Anaplan), iConclude (acquired by HP), Lithium (acquired by Vista Equity), Outright (acquired by GoDaddy), Volometrix (acquired by Microsoft), WatchDox (acquired by Blackberry) and Zenprise (acquired by Citrix).

Ravi has focused his entire career on the software business. He works with passionate entrepreneurs who possess unique product and market perspectives that result in high growth companies. His areas of expertise span data and analytics, SaaS applications and infrastructure management. He brings a unique perspective to the companies he works with specializing in product/market fit and team building.

Prior to Shasta, Ravi was a general partner at Battery Ventures and a member of the executive committee. He led 8 investments and served on the boards of 12 software and technology-enabled service companies. Previously, Ravi built transaction-processing systems at Accenture, sold and implemented software applications for Hyperion Software Corp., and ran MIC, a business intelligence software company in India. Ravi also spent time at McKinsey & Co., working with consumer-packaged goods companies.

He is active in entrepreneurial circles and helped found the Silicon Valley chapter of the Indian Venture Capital Association (IVCA) to leverage entrepreneurial activities between India and the U.S. Ravi holds a B.S. degree in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering from Cornell University and earned his M.B.A. degree from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.
