Mitch Ballard

Mitch Ballard is the Senior Director of Creative at Broadcast Music, Austin, responsible for providing service to existing BMI affiliates in Texas, signing new talent, and providing enhancement for the already vibrant songwriting community in Austin. Priory to Austin, Ballard moved to Nashville, TN in 1992 after graduating from the University of North Texas. Previously an on-air talent in radio and television in his native Texas, Mitch spent the next 16 years in the music business tour managing major national acts, as well as writing songs with some of Nashville’s finest songwriters.

In 1997, while working with hit country artist, Kevin Sharp, Mitch saw the value and need to be on the Internet. With an off-the-shelf web development program, Mitch launched KevinSharp.com. A large number of music based websites soon followed.

After more than a decade of traveling 200+ days out of the year managing artist concert tours, Mitch joined WV Fiber to run WV Magic and stay at home. Shortly after, Mitch and Peter Marcum took over WV Magic as a separate run company and in April of 2012, WV Magic changed its name to DevDigital, LLC to better represent what the company does.

With a long background in the music business, Mitch quickly developed web-based applications for music booking agencies, tour management, and in music publishing. Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton, Rascal Flatts, Clay Walker, Lee Brice and many other national acts are clients. In 2014, DevDigital formed a new company and moved all music business software products to Kalatech and named Brittany Wegusen CEO and partner.

DevDigital remains the investor and development arm for Kalatech and with a thorough knowledge of web-based business systems, DevDigital has since expanded into other businesses such as health care, private aviation, road construction.
