Wunderman is a global digital agency founded in 1958 by Lester Wunderman, Irving Wunderman, Ed Ricotta, and Harry Kline, as Wunderman, Ricotta & Klein (WRK). With 200 offices in 70 markets, headquartered in New York City, Wunderman is part of Young & Rubicam Brands and a member of WPP.

Founder Lester Wunderman is widely considered to be the creator of modern-day Direct Marketing, a term he originated in a 1967 speech at MIT.[1]

Wunderman, Ricotta & Kline was acquired by Young & Rubicam in 1973.[2]

Wunderman has been widely recognized for its work. Forrester Research named us a leader in marketing database operations and a strong performer in customer engagement strategy*. Headquartered in New York, we have 9,200 creatives, data scientists, strategists and technologists in 200 offices in 70 markets. Wunderman is a ‘team first’ culture committed to creating an environment where people come to do the best work of their careers.[3]

In November, 2018, WPP merged J. Walter Thompson, the world’s oldest ad agency, with Wunderman, resulting in an organization known as Wunderman Thompson and be headquartered in JWT’s offices on Manhattan’s Lexington Avenue.[4]
