Wasabi Ventures

Wasabi Ventures is a venture capital firm specializing in co-founding, investing in, incubating, building and advising early stage technology companies. Wasabi Ventures has built, financed, and advised over 200 start-ups including some wildly successful ventures like Right Now Technologies, PBworks, Ustream, and Etherpad.

Wasabi Ventures was founded in 2003 by Chris Yeh and TK Kuegler, both startup entrepreneurs and NY Times bestselling authors, who take an active roll in the WV day-to-day operations.

Wasabi Ventures offers a very unique model where it provides startup financing, hands-on co-founding, mentorship and education, and an unmatched network to help founders build their startup from pre-idea all the way through a successful exit. The program is so revolutionary that it has been called, “what startup incubation should be and never is.”

To provide the educational aspect of this, WV created a revolutionary program called the Wasabi Ventures Academy that provides course work to individuals so that they can gain the necessary fundamentals to be successful founders, co-founders, employees, and contributors in the start-up ecosystem. In the last three years, over 2,000 students from all over the world and every walk of life have attended classes at the WV Academy. The WV Academy has earned a great reputation for working with leading educational institutions like Dartmouth, Babson, Loyola University, and University of New Hampshire to enhance and augment their entrepreneurial education and incubation.

In addition, WV has built a unique offering that combines our experience in startup education with hands-on co-founding and startup finance to work with government, corporate, and institutional research labs to efficiently manage their tech transfer and commercialization programs.1

The firm has investments in media innovations such as ADKOPS, AudioStaq, Creative Gig, College Pulse, vidstructor, Takeoff, cielo24, SocialToaster, SkyTubeLive, scrible, midgame, and Lutebox.
