Owned by eBay, StubHub reinvented the ticket marketplace when founded by Eric Baker and Jeff Fluhr in 2000, and continues to lead it through innovation. StubHub’s industry firsts include: the introduction of the ticketing application, interactive seat mapping, 360 degree virtual views of seating, innovative price recommendation technology and an algorithm that determines the best value on tickets. In 2007, StubHub was acquired by online auctions service eBay for $310 million.

In 2015, Stubhub announced a commitment to give $1 million of musical instruments to U.S. schools, in partnership with The Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation and in 2016, StubHub expanded into more than 40 additional markets with the acquisition of Ticketbis.

In November, 2019, it was announced that Ebay was approaching a deal to sell Stubhub to Viagogo for a out $4 billion.1
