Cowboy Ventures

Cowboy Ventures is a seed-stage, technology oriented, venture fund focused on growth. Based in San Francisco, CA, the firm was founded in 2012 by Aileen Lee, previously of Kleiner Perkins; Lee is known well for coined the Silicon Valley oriented term “unicorn,” in a TechCrunch article “Welcome To The Unicorn Club: Learning from Billion-Dollar Startups” and as profiled in a New York Times article.1

Cowboy Ventures is one of the first female-led venture capital firms and they seek to back exceptional founders who are building products that “re-imagine” work and personal life in large and growing markets. Investments in media technology include companies such as textio, nWay, liftlab, Hooked, chime, crunchbase, and Mixhalo.
