Tribune Media is comprised of 42 owned or operated broadcast stations, national entertainment network WGN America, WGN-Radio and a significant number of real estate properties and strategic investments.

In the journalism arena, Tribune Broadcasting produces roughly 6,000 hours of news each month and 75,000 hours a year across Tribune Broadcasting’s 42 owned or operated stations. Delivering hyper-local and relevant news to audiences, Tribune Broadcasting serves communities and the modern-day demands of audiences by providing the best in personalization of news on television. Tribune Media is the country’s largest combined independent broadcast station group and entertainment production studio, with 42 owned or operated broadcast stations, WGN America, Antenna TV, ThisTV, global web properties, and meta-data businesses. They own local television stations in each of the country’s top three markets and seven of the top ten.

WGN America reaches approximately 80 million U.S. households; Tribune Broadcasting reaches 50+ million households in each corner of America, and is the nation’s No. 1 Fox and CW affiliate group.1

Tribune Media has investments with several leading content and digital businesses including TV Food Network, Classified Ventures, the Chicago Cubs, Nimble TV, and Mashable.

In December, 2019, Nexstar Media Group agreed to acquire Tribune Media Co. for $4.1 billion in a deal set to create the largest operator of local television stations in the U.S.2
