Bullpen Capital

Bullpen Capital is an early-stage, post-seed venture fund launched in 2010 and investing in technology companies that have been funded by super-angels and institutional seed funds. With General Partners Paul Martino, Duncan Davidson, and Eric Wiesen, Bullpen Capital extends the capital-efficient model beyond the seed stage, keeping options open for founders and investors. By working closely with many of the leading super-angel funds, they act with greater speed than most other venture investors.

Bullpen is a $140 million venture fund with a differentiated strategy: invest after product-market fit at what is, for many companies, the inflection point of value. That round is often the critical step between a product-centric seed round and a much larger “Super-Sized” venture round. Such smaller rounds provide the founding team more ownership and control, and preserves the decision whether to raise large amounts of capital or to pursue a near-term exit.1

They’ve invested in media technologies such as FanDuel, Zynga, LiveIntent, DoubleDutch, TubeMogul, Circulate, NaviStone, Aggregate Knowledge, GameFlip, Ranker, TWENTY20, Udemy, Verbling, Millennial Media, Marketo, and Jump Ramp Games.

In June, 2019, Bullpen Capital’s Paul Martino and Kleiner Perkins’ Randy Komisar started the podcast No Bull, inspired by their relationships with former football coach and Apple executive Bill Campbell. In each episode, the co-hosts and notable guests share stories of their rough yet heartwarming lessons of The Coach’s human connection, grit and tough love.2
