MediaTech Perspective
We’ve all heard the saying “content is king,” especially given the current circumstances, this could not be more true. I often get asked why that is, and why every professional, whether or not you’re an entrepreneur, should do just that? There are many reasons why, but there are a few that strike me as most important.
- Become a trusted adviser: We live in a free information economy, you can learn almost anything you want to via the internet. When someone is searching “how to _____” you want to be the resource that shows up in search!
- Increase your organic growth: When you record a video, you are creating multiple forms of content, the video + audio + transcription + blog. If you’re not spending ad dollars consistently for visibility and ranking, your best bet is to compound your content assets to increase your awareness, indexing within Google, and overall online visibility.
- People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care: We’ve all heard this saying, I’d imagine ad nauseam, but it’s more important than ever. Think about your peers, and the experts you look up to, I can almost guarantee they’re pumping out content, pushing what’s possible within your community, and helping lead the way and/or foster the next era of innovation.
So find a podcast to be on, or hell, start your own! The only disservice you’re doing to yourself and your career, is not doing anything at all. There are people out there waiting to hear from you, give them the opportunity to do so!
